Natalie can remember!

Yesterday afternoon I went in to get Natalie when she awoke from her nap. She was saying "Mao" which I could hear on the monitor. She said it again when I went in the room. I went over to the crib, thinking she was talking about her stuffed cat, Mao, who was sitting next to her. But she wasn't pointing at the cat, she was pointing at her hand. I asked her where the "mao" was, and she again pointed to the back of her hand. Then she grabbed my hand and pointed to the back of it and repeated, "mao."

What she was doing was remembering when we went to a children's museum back on the 21st of July, almost 4 weeks ago! They stamped a mouse on the back of our hands when we paid. Natalie was fascinated with it the entire day and kept pointing to her mouse and saying "mou!" Then she would point out mine. She just loved that stamp. It must have made an impression, because she was remembering that stamp almost 4 weeks later!

Not sure how toddler's memories are supposed to work, but I really didn't think she could remember that far back. I was very amazed. She is so smart!!!
