Natalie is FINALLY potty training!

I think we were both finally ready to tackle this potty training stuff. Natalie was never one for telling me when she had to go, or that she had gone. She would flat out lie to my face if I asked her if she had pooped. She never complained about a wet or poopy diaper. So the leap into potty training was a little slow going. Finally, last week, I noticed she was still dry about 30 minutes after waking in the morning. She had drank a lot of water overnight from my bedside cup, and had some milk in the morning, so I knew she had to go. I brought her to the toilet, but she didn't go until I offered her a present. I had found the magical bribe for this kid. Chocolate frosting! She absolutely loves it and now knows that she won't get any until she makes peepee on the potty.

So far she has done really well. Sometimes it takes her a while to go, but she's getting better. I know it will take some time for her to learn to control that action, since she's never had to control it before. She's had three accidents so far. I've found that if she has panties on, then she will just go in them. So after two accidents in panties, she's now baby bare butt in the house. Not the ideal situation, but until she learns more control, that's how it's got to be. Luckily she doesn't care about being bare bottomed. LoL The other accident was when she was busy playing with Madisyn and probably just didn't realize that she had to go until she was going. Luckily that one was on the linoleum, so it was an easy clean-up. The last panty accident was all over the kitchen chair.

I am so excited to finally be potty training!! I am happy that she seems to be getting it, and we finally found something that works. I am not looking forward to having her use public toilets, but I know it's inevitable. There's finally hope that she'll be out of diapers by her third birthday! I was worried there for a while.
