Crayons melt in the mouth, not in the hand

When I looked at Milo yesterday morning, I was a bit dismayed to see some bright turquoise liquid around his mouth. I was even more dismayed when I went to wipe it and he spit more out. I swear it looked like bright turquoise blood. Not a common thing to see spewing from your baby's mouth. I fished out a bit of blue crayon, and threw it away. As I am wiping off his teeth and tongue, reminding myself that crayons are non-toxic(right????), I am making a mental note that Natalie is not allowed to color with crayons by herself anymore. Inevitably, a piece of crayon ends up on the floor and in Milo's mouth. I think he has acquired a taste for them. Oh, and did I mention he loves Pop Tarts. Sigh...

Our friend's daughter loved to eat crayons. She was near 3 by the time she wouldn't take a bite out of them if she got her hands on them LOL! They are non-toxic, but the problem they had was if she did eat them and swallow them, often the melted wax would stick to her bum when she pooped. Not good! She eventually stopped ;)
